Associate Professor Linda Diaconis is Program Coordinator for the RN to BS option in the Division of Nursing at Villa Julie. She has 35 years experience as a registered nurse in emergency, medical-surgical, neurosurgical operating room, cardiothoracic surgical, and telephone triage nursing practice. Her interest in RN to BS education stems from her own experiences as a diploma nurse who returned to school to obtain her BSN.
Dr. Diaconis' dissertation research was a phenomenological study entitled The Lived Experience of Registered Nurses Who Return to School for a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. She continues to pursue phenomenological research that is philosophically grounded in the concept of caring. She has presented several papers on caring at international conferences and published work on the nursing care of vulnerable families.
Dr. Diaconis is past president of Rho Epsilon chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, a member of American Nurses' Association, and an active participant in the International Association of Human Caring. She is enthusiastic about creating caring environments for nurses to further their education and advance their careers.
