CURRENT RESEARCH
Bioinorganic chemical research based on the reduction of sulfate by certain species of the bacteria Desulfovibrio. We are replicating the three-step reduction cycle by synthetically modeling analogues of each of the active sites. The model complexes will then be studied kinetically using UV-vis and NMR. Currently, we have synthesized several flavin compounds, mimicking APS Sulfurylase, and are running reactivity studies.
