Kevin J. Manning assumed his role as the fourth president of Villa Julie College on July 1, 2000. He was selected for the position after an extensive national search process that involved the Board, students, faculty and staff of Maryland's third-largest independent college.
In July 2006, Dr. Manning began his fortieth year in higher education. Before coming to Villa Julie, he was Vice President for Development and College Relations at Immaculata College in Pennsylvania. Prior to Immaculata College, Dr. Manning held key administrative positions at Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, and at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Key Accomplishments
- Developed and implemented first-ever College Strategic Plan
- Since his arrival, the College has experiences continued consecutive years of record enrollment
- Introduced Career Architecture, a career strategic plan program for students, for which he was recognized as a Maryland Innovator of the Year by the Daily Record in September 2003
- Maintained quality programs while offering one of the lowestprivate college tuitions in the country ("Best Value" designation, U.S. News & World Report 8/05)
- Coordinated development of the College's first faculty governance plan, a Faculty Council
- Established formal External Relations and Marketing "image" campaign for the College
- Expanded the College's adult and weekend program into the School of Graduate and Professional Studies. Introduced the area's first accelerated programs and 5/06 national launch of Master's Degree in Forensic Studies, VJC's first online program
- Expanded the Board of Trustees to include additional community and corporate leaders; developed and continues to expand President's Advisory Council
- Developed a second campus in Owings Mills, transforming the College from a commuter school to a residential one for up to 1,350 students. Additional buildings include a Community Center (2004), the purchase of the former Ravens Training Center for a fall 2006 sports and wellness complex opening; and the purchase of a two-story building that houses the School of Graduate and Professional Studies, Admissions, and Marketing. Relocated the adult programs to the Owings Mills campus
- Planned a student services building/cafeteria to open fall 2006 in Owings Mills and updates for the Stevenson campus
- Developed the first formal capital campaign strategy for the Collegee
- Presented an invitational talk at the University of Oxford on "Visionary Leadership in the 21st Century," The Oxford Roundtable, Oxford, England, July 2006
Personal
Dr. Manning and his wife, Sara, reside in the Hunt Valley area and have three children and two grandchildren.
